Lab · Duplicate events

What happens when the same event arrives twice?

Networks retry. A sender that times out cannot tell whether its request ran, so it sends again. Compare a handler that applies everything with one that remembers what it already did.

Interactive simulation using synthetic data

Guarded: records each event ID as executing, then completed with its result. A repeat reuses the result; a repeat with a different payload is a conflict.

Retry after timeout

Guarded handler: 0 deliveries, 0 side effects.
